HELEN SMITH obituary

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Helen Carol Smith, 59, formerly of Rudyard, died on Saturday, June 7, 2003, at an Anchorage medical center from colon cancer.

A small service for friends and family was held at Evergreen Memorial Chapel in Anchorage on Thursday afternoon. Plans for a second memorial service in

They moved to Galena, Alaska, in the summer of 1999, where she worked for the Galena City School District in the library.

Knitting, cooking and spending time with her family were her favorite things to do.

She was preceded in death by her natural father, Bill Robertson, and sisters, Carlene and Linda.

She is survived by her husband, Jim of Galena; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Patti of Galena; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Ameer of Anchorage; parents, Maxine and Alex Lodinoff of Whitefish; brothers, Bubby of Whitefish, Bernie Robertson of Rainier, Wash., Bob Robertson of Havre; sisters, Penni Robertson of Havre, Debbie of Billings; sister-in-law, Shirley Devoe of Nova Scotia; and her father- and mother-in-law, Marjorie and Lloyd Brownell of San Francisco; a granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
