GAY KRAVIK obituary

DALLAS - Gay Duane Kravik, 64, died Friday, June 27, 2003, from cancer.

A celebration of his life was scheduled for this morning at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, with a graveside service following.

Gay was born on March 27, 1939, at Havre to Gay Laverne and Breta (Anderson) Kravik. He grew up on a dairy farm in Havre and graduated from Havre High School. After attending Montana Tech University, he graduated with a master's degree in petroleum engineering from Penn State University.

He worked in the oil and gas industry for 39 years and retired in 2002 from DeGolyer and MacNaughton.

Gay's passions in life included traveling, baseball, scuba diving, Penn State football, photography, the Dallas Cowboys, reading, theater, his grandchildren and two-stepping with his wife, Cindy.

Gay lived an active life until diagnosed with cancer on Valentine's Day, but he fought the battle with courage and faith.

Gay was preceded in death by his parents, Gay Laverne and Breta Kravik; brother, Gary; and first wife, Marie.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Lea; son, Michael (Susan) Kravik; daughter, Elyse (Andy) Fulton; five grandchildren; brother, Jim (Sandy) Kravik of Hayden Lake, Idaho; Cindy's daughter, Amy (Chris) Harris and their daughter; a niece; and numerous other loved and appreciated family members, friends, and fantasy football compadres.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Gilda's Club of North Texas, the Marie Sullivan Kravik Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Montana Tech University Foundation, or a charity of their choice.
