LANCE PARKER obituary

ROCKY BOY - Lance Sheldon Parker Sr., Thunder Child, 33, died Sunday, July 20, 2003, in a motor vehicle accident.

A wake service began Sunday evening at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church with the funeral Mass beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, also at the

Rocky Boy Catholic Church with the Rev. Pete Guthneck officiating. Burial will follow at the Rocky Boy Cemetery.

Lance was born Sept. 18, 1969, in Havre to Edmond and Laverne (Allery) Parker. He moved to Kansas with his family when he was a young child. He graduated from high school in 1988 in Lawrence, Kansas. He attended Haskell University in Lawrence and graduated in 1990 with a degree in forestry.

He moved to Rocky Boy and attended Stone Child College and graduated in 1995 with an associate degree in teacher education. While attending Stone Child, he was president of student government. He was attending MSU-Northern and was scheduled to graduate with honors in teacher education, obtaining his bachelor degree in the spring.

Lance met Christine Day Child and they were together five years before marrying on May 28, 1998, in Rocky Boy.

Lance cherished his children, and he loved playing softball, teaching children and being with his family and friends. He coached T-ball in the Hi-Line Baseball League and Havre Youth Baseball League. He enjoyed attending powwows and was a traditional dancer. He like to barbecue and being in the outdoors. His favorite baseball team was the Kansas City Royals.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Robert and Agnes Parker

Lance is survived by his parents, Edmond and LaVerne Parker of Aberdeen, S.D .; wife, Christine Parker of Box Elder; sons, Desmond and Lance Jr. of Box Elder, Edmond Parker of Oklahoma and Bryant Eagleman of Rocky Boy; daughters, Roselynn Parker and Kristi Dawn Parker of Box Elder; brother, Robert Parker of Minneapolis; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
