HEATHER MOWEN obituary

Heather Michelle "Speedy" Mowen, 25, died Thursday morning, Aug. 21, 2003, due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. today at the St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Alfred Ebel officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery. A fellowship

luncheon will be held at the church immediately following the graveside services.

Heather was born on Aug. 30, 1977, in Havre to Tom and Betty (McFadden) Mowen. She was raised and educated in Havre and graduated from Havre High School in 1996. While in high school she was active in cross country and track. She attended Montana State University-Northern for a year and a half.

Heather worked for the MSU-N day care and IGA. She was currently employed by West Wind Courier Service of Havre. She also was a newspaper carrier for the Havre Daily News for the last two months.

Heather loved softball and had played since she was a young girl. She was currently a member of the Montana In-Touch co-ed softball team. She enjoyed her son, Brenden, and had a love for all children. Heather enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Some of her hobbies were biking, swimming, hunting and fishing. Heather was an avid Denver Broncos fan. She especially liked John Elway. The Atlanta Braves was her favorite baseball team. Heather was very fond of her grandfather, Dean McFadden. She was a very kind and compassionate person, always doing whatever she could for others.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Dean McFadden and Harry Mowen, and an uncle, Ted McFadden.

Survivors include her 4-year-old son, Brenden Danielson of Havre; parents Tom and Betty Mowen of Havre; brother Corey (Shiloh) Mowen of Rifle, Colo .; grandmothers, LaVerna McFadden of Lakeside and Thelma Mowen of Bozeman; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorials in Heather's honor may be made to an educational trust fund for her son, Brenden Danielson, c/o Tom and Betty Mowen, 309 Sagebrush Drive, Havre, MT 59501. The trust will be set up at Bear Paw Credit Union.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
