Boys cross country club posts strong showing in Cut Bank

The Havre High boys cross country club had a successful showing at Friday's Cut Bank Time Trials.

Seniors Jeff Sprinkle and Kasey Barsotti finished in third and fifth place respectively to pace Havre.

"Jeff ran a very smart race and he is looking strong," said cross country club coach Ron Watson. "There were some very competitive teams in this race and we had two of the top five runners in the meet."

Both Sprinkle and Barsotti are returners from last year and had solid springs for the Havre High track teams.

Watson did welcome in two new runners at the meet and both had solid showings in their first cross country meet.

Sophomores Marcus Campbell and Cody McLean finished in 42nd and 63rd place which wasn't bad for their first race.

Havre will travel to the Flathead Invitational on Saturday. Watson said that his team will pick up a fifth runner, so its team scores will be calculated in the meet.
