The Chinook High school volleyball team capped an undefeated weekend by winning its own invitational tourney.
The Beeters lost only one game in six matches during the tournament, as they steamrolled to a 6-0 record. Chinook lost the opening game of the championship match 23-25 to Cut Bank. However, the Beeters trounced the Wolves in game two, 25-8, and breezed to a 15-4 win in game three to take the title.
Chinook will open the District 2B season this week. The Beeters travel to Poplar on Friday and Plentywood on Saturday.
In the District 6C, the Blue Sky Eagles picked up a pair of conference wins cruising past Rocky Boy in Rocky Boy and defeating Box Elder in Rudyard.
Lindsay Anderson had 12 kills and six aces in the two matches while Kaila Warren had seven aces against Box Elder and nine kills against Rocky Boy.
The Chester Coyotes also completed the sweep over the Bears and Morning Stars on Friday in Rocky Boy.
Chester got solid all-around play from Keyla Wendland in the two wins.
Rocky Boy's Charmayne Four Colors led the Stars in kills, aces and blocks in both of its matches on the weekend,
The KG KouGars picked up a split on the weekend by defeating the J-I Rams in a tough match and falling to defending 6C champ Sunburst.
KG got four kills and eight blocks from Cady Arifin, a game-high 23 assists from Janine Jorgenson and eight aces from Whitney Hanson in a four-game win over J-I. The Rams were led by Amanda Moss with seven kills while Katie O'Neil added seven blocks and three digs.
After playing an extremely close in the first game, Sunburst rolled past the KouGars in games two and three for a quick win.
Arifin had eight digs, seven kills and two blocks to pace the KouGars. Sunburst got seven kills from Cherry Tomscheck and six aces and three blocks from Brianna Gillund in the win.
