BUTTE (AP) - Not bad for his first college game.

Montana State University-Northern's Neill Crandell picks up Frontier Conference offensive honors this week for his performance in his first game for the Lights.

Montana Tech's Tucker Edmundson is defensive player of the week and Carroll's Zac Titus was recognized among special teams players.

Crandell, a freshman from Scobey, completed 28 of 50 pass attempts for 429 yards and one touchdown in the Lights' 31-20 loss to Dickinson State. The performance set school records for single game passing yards.

Others nominated for offensive player of the week are Montana-Western's Josh Shrum, Montana Tech's Adam Cotton and Carroll College's Zack Zawacki.

The Orediggers' Edmundson won the week's defensive mention after nine solo tackles, three assists, three sacks and one pass break-up in Tech's 19-16 loss to Carroll. Edmundson is a sophomore from Harrison.

Other defensive nominees were Northern's Cort Milks, Western's Cole Van Heel and Carroll's Regan Mack.

Carroll's Titus drew praise for making two field goals against Montana Tech, including the double-overtime 25-yard kick that won the game for the Saints.

Other special team nominees were Northern's Chris Nagel and Tech's Ryan Dunn.
