HENRY HOFFMAN obituary

DENVER - Henry L. "Pete" Hoffman, 80, of Denver died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, after a battle with cancer.

Burial has taken place.

He was born in Havre to Levi Hoffman and Christine Bostrack Hoffman. His father, who nicknamed him Pete, died in an accident in 1930. His mother taught him the meaning of hard work and dedication to God during the difficult depression era. Pete graduated from Havre High School in 1941.

He served in the Navy during World War II. After the war, he graduated from Denver University with a degree in business.

While attending St. John's Lutheran Church, he met Patricia Edmonds. They were married in 1952. In 1954, he founded Henry L. Hoffman Inc. and began building houses in the Denver area. In the 1960s, HLH began specializing in house drainage problems. He continued actively in the business until his death.

He was actively involved in church work for 55 years in various capacities. He spent the last 10 years serving at Galilee Baptist Church. He made seven trips to Israel since the 1970s.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lowell, and infant daughter, Judy.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia; daughter, Kathy; sons, Paul, David and Mark; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Verna.
