Sugarbeeters, Eagles remain undefeated in conference

The Chinook Sugarbeeters and Blue Sky Eagles remained undefeated in conference play, following another weekend of high school volleyball.

The Beeters cruised to a pair of wins over Plentywood and Poplar to continue their dominance of District 2B volleyball. Chinook eased past Plentywood 25-10, 25-12, 25-16 on Friday night while defeating Poplar 25-22, 25-20, 25-22 on Saturday night.

Kelsey Crampton led Chinook with 13 kills in the two matches while Tiffany Cuerth dished out 22 assists and served up five aces.

Poplar and Plentywood weren't quite as kind to the Harlem Wildcats, each picking wins over the Wildcats. Megan Walls had 24 kills, Alicia Shields picked up 42 digs and Carly Haluszka added 29 digs and four aces in the two matches for Harlem.

In District 6C action, Blue Sky swept a pair of road matches over Rocky Boy and Box Elder to remain undefeated in conference play. Kaila Warren led the Eagle attack with 15 kills in two matches. Lindsay Anderson also had a solid weekend with 22 digs and five aces.

The Chester Coyotes also completed the sweep over Rocky Boy and Box Elder. Courtney Fraser has 11 kills and Keyla Wendland added 14 assists and 6 aces in a 20-25, 25-7, 25-19, 25-13 over Box Elder. Chester got 10 kills from Shawnee Norick and 15 more assists from Wendland in a 25-22, 27-29, 25-10, 25-15 win over Rocky Boy.

Elsewhere, Cady Arifin had nine kills and Janine Jorgenson passed out 20 assists as K-G defeated J-I 25-27, 25-22, 25-19, 25-17. The Rams got seven kills, six aces and five digs from Katie O'Neil in the loss.

J-I was upset a night later by the Big Sandy Pioneers, 22-25, 25-22, 26-24, 25-15 in Joplin. The Pearsons, Raynee and Shalayna, combined for 14 kills and nine blocks while Mikki Hammons had 15 assists and five aces to lead Big Sandy. Amanda Moss had 10 kills and Hannah Pimley added nine kills and five digs in the losing effort.

Sunburst also picked up a pair of wins on the weekend, defeating Big Sandy, 25-9, 23-25, 25-21, 25-18 and K-G 25-14, 19-25, 25-12, 27-25.
