HHS freshmen volleyball team caps off successful season

The Havre High freshman volleyball team closed out its final weekend of play on Saturday, Oct. 25.

The team traveled to Browning on Friday to earn a victory over the Indians and played in the Blue Pony Triangular on Saturday.

The young Blue Ponies earned an emotional win over their conference rivals - the Lewistown Eagles - and topped Browning again on Saturday to complete their season.

Members of the Havre freshman team are: Jayme Seidel, Emily Ulgenes, Larissa Hand, Katy Dow, Katie McLeod, Jesine Munson, Carmen Neuens, Samantha Boucher, Amy Marshall, Erika Briese, RaeAnn Brostrom and Christina Armstrong. The team was managed by Taylor O'Connell and coached by Connie Becker.

The team finished out the season with an overall record of 16-4 and a conference record of 12-2, defeated by conference foes Dillon and Belgrade.

Highlighting their year was a second-place finish at the Central A Extravaganza in Belgrade's Special Events Center in August.

"We had a lot of talent on our freshman team this year," Becker said. "The girls improved tremendously over the season and I look forward to their contribution at the junior varsity and varsity levels. The future of Blue Pony Volleyball looks very promising."
