UM-Western roughs up Lights

DILLON (AP) - Caleb Drinkwalter rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns, and Travis Kirby passed for 193 yards and three TDs in limited action as Montana-Western shut out Montana State-Northern 51-0 Saturday.

The game was the season finale for both teams.

Western (7-4, 6-2 Frontier) scored on five of its first six possessions, and the Bulldogs led 31-0 before Northern (1-9, 1-7) finally recorded a first down midway through the second quarter.

Josh Shrum rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns, giving him a school record 18 TDs on the season. Corey Bolton set the old record with 16 touchdowns in 1990.

Dallas Mock caught four passes for 47 yards and two touchdowns, while Jake Larson caught three passes for 62 yards and T Artis caught four passes for 52. Josh Illig added three receptions for 24 yards and a score.

Northern quarterback Neill Crandell completed 16 of 36 passes for 192 yards, and was intercepted twice. Nick Arnold caught five passes for 100 yards.

Western held Northern to just six yards on 28 carries.
