I stared Pat Foster right in the face and lied to him. It's something I don't believe journalists should do during interviews.
He asked me, "You aren't going to put that picture of me in the girl's shirt in the paper are you?"
"No," I lied. "We'll just use the head part for your mugshot. I would never put the whole picture in the paper."
Really, I had every intention of putting it in the paper. Come on, look at it. Was there ever really a question that something like that wouldn't be on display for people in Havre to see? Could he honestly believe that I wouldn't do something like that?
