EUGENE BODNER obituary

Eugene Louis Bodner, 71, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, at a Fort Benton medical center of natural causes.

Open public viewing was Sunday afternoon and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m . today. His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Holland and Bonine Funeral

Home with Dean Rohner officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Havre.

Eugene was born on March 26, 1932, in Havre to Louis and Lottie (Parks) Bodner. He was raised and educated in Havre and graduated from Havre High School in 1949.

Eugene went to work for the Great Northern Railway in September of 1950. He entered the U.S. Army in 1951 and worked as a supply mechanic in Japan during the Korean War. He received his honorable discharge as a corporal in 1953.

Eugene returned to Havre and married Luella Johnson in September of 1955. She died in 1959. He then married Virginia West in 1971 and she died in 1981. Eugene retired from the railroad in 1992 after 42 years. He lived in Havre until 1998, when he moved to Fort Benton.

Eugene's hobbies were sharpshooting, firearms, tractors, hunting and farming.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Luella Bodner; his second wife, Virginia West; and sister, June Bodner.

Survivors include his children, Roger (Joann) Bodner of Billings, Yvonne Kensa-Bodner of Havre, Debbie Bodner of Havre and Bruce Parks of Tacoma, Wash .; brother, Earl Bodner of Cascade County; and 10 grandchildren.

Memorials in Eugene's honor may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 1032 19th St., Havre, MT 59501.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
