DOROTHY NELSON obituary

CHINOOK - Dorothy (Dot) Nelson, 70, died at a Havre hospital due to natural causes on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003.

A memorial service was held Saturday afternoon in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation has taken place.

Dorothy was born on June 30, 1933, in

Malta to Frank and Mary (Dove) Fanning. She attended schools in the Malta area.

Dorothy married Elmer William Nelson in Havre on Aug. 8, 1949.

She enjoyed camping, bowling, and was a lifelong member of the VFW. Dorothy worked as a waitress in Malta, Lewistown and Billings. She never went anywhere that she didn't meet some one that she knew or loved. Dorothy will forever live in the hearts of her family and friends. She will especially be missed by her best friends, cousin Linda Hoover and aunt Mary Moore, both of Malta, and childhood friend of 55 years Edna Teske of Havre.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer Nelson, infant sons, Jimmy Dale Nelson and Nikita Wayne Nelson; and brother, William (Bill) Fanning.

Dorothy is survived by her sons Elvon (Dovey) Nelson, Elmer (Colleen Rogers) Nelson, Dennis (Sandy Norquay) Nelson, Danny (Kathy) Nelson, all of Chinook, Jerry Dean (Dolly Masterson) Nelson of Missoula; daughters, Brenda (Balentin) Pacheco of Rawlins, Wyo., and Londa (Kevin Laughlin) Nelson of Chinook; sister, Ethel (Harold) Schmoeckel of Malta; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; aunts, Mickey Michelson of Malta and Rae Burns of California; nephews, Billy Fanning, Larry Teske, Vincent Schmoeckel; nieces, Shirley Jones, Linda Brown, Debbie Swanson, Carol Schubert, Dawn and Edyna Fanning; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
