MARLENE HANSON obituary

Alma Marlene Hanson, 70, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at a Havre hospital of natural causes.

A prayer vigil will be 7 p.m. Sunday at the Holland and Bonine Funeral Chapel. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Jude

Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert D. Grosch officiating. A fellowship will be held immediately after the Mass at the St. Jude Parish Center.

Marlene was born on June 18, 2003, in Hingham to Edward and Alma (Voss) Norenberg. She attended school in Hingham and graduated from Hingham High School in 1951. After high school, Marlene worked in Havre at Patterson's Clothing Store.

She met Kenneth R. Hanson and the couple were married on Nov. 8, 1952, and made their home in Hingham. Marlene worked with Kenneth at the Phillips 66 station in Hingham. After living in Malta for one year, the family moved to Havre in 1964 and Marlene went to work for F.A. Buttrey in the women's ready-to-wear department. Marlene left there after eight years and went to work at the Credit Bureau until taking a position at Vyonnes Dress Shop as the manager. In 1978 she went to work for Lelok Travel until retiring in July of 1995.

Marlene enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, playing card games, cooking and baking. But most of all she loved her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters and the Eagles Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents,Edward and Alma (Voss) Norenberg; husband, Kenneth Hanson in 2001; sisters, Louise Blake, Dorothy Jones, Verda Alex and Vera Rambo; brothers, Raymond Buzz Norenberg and Ed Norenberg.

Survivors include her children, Deborah (Keith) Guenther of Glasgow, Chan (Sheila) Hanson of Havre and Todd (Erica) Hanson of Havre; sister, June Richter of Havre; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
