ROBERT BITTERMAN obituary

POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. - The Rev. Robert D. Bitterman, 71, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church in Powder Springs with the Rev. Snyder Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens.

Bitterman was born on Aug. 13, 1932, in Havre. He received his master of divinity in 1961.

Bitterman was the pastor of Christ Memorial Baptist Church in Warren, Ohio, for 33 years. After being a minister for more than 50 years, he retired in 1997 and moved to Powder Springs, Ga. He worked with the Independent Gospel Missions as a missionary evangelist field representative and director of international pastoral training. He conducted pastoral training schools in India, Haiti, Grenada and Jamaica.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Powder Springs.

Bitterman is survived by his wife of 49 years, Neomia Bitterman; daughters, Cheryl (Michael) Draa of Marietta, Ga., and Carol (Scott) Kirkpatrick of Michigan; brothers, LaVern Bitterman of Billings and Donald Bitterman of Havre; sisters, Helen Nash of East Wenatchee, Wash., and Arlene Winrich of Madison, Wis.; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 3988 Powder Springs Road, Powder Springs, GA 30127.

Bellamy funeral Home of Powder Springs is in charge of arrangements.
