DAVE SPRINKLE obituary

CHINOOK - Dave Sprinkle, 89, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at a Chinook nursing home due too natural causes.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today in St. Gabriel's Catholic Church. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Gabriel's Catholic Church with burial following in

Kuper Memorial Cemetery with military honors.

Dave was born on Nov. 20, 1914, in Havre to Charles and Corona (Bessette) Sprinkle. He attended schools in Havre and graduated from Havre High School in 1932.

Dave married Betty McCartney on July 8, 1941, in Chinook.

In 1935, Dave purchased the Texaco Station from Curly Graham, which he operated for 50 years. In 1978, he built the Grande Villa Retirement Apartments in Chinook. Dave hauled mud for the drilling rigs in the 1950s. Dave contracted and drove school buses for Chinook School District for 46 years and received numerous safety awards. He learned to operate heavy equipment as a young man and always wanted to be a farmer/rancher.

Dave served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Dave was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church and Ducks Unlimited, and was an avid waterfowl hunter and big game hunter.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Sprinkle in 2001; and brothers, Robert and Roger Sprinkle.

Survivors include his daughter, JoLynn Anderson of Miles City.

Memorials may be sent to St. Gabriel's Catholic Church.

Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
