ALICE HUFF obituary

Alice Elizabeth Huff, 92, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at a Havre care center of natural causes.

Viewing for Alice will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home with the funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Holland and Bonine Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Zoe Coutts officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery.

Alice was born on June 2, 1911, in Lilloico, Alberta to Arnold and Gina (Espeseth) Lund. The family immigrated to the United States in 1922 and settled in Wolf Point. Alice was raised and educated in Wolf Point and graduated from Wolf Point High School in 1929.

After high school, she attended the Montana Business Institute in Mile City and completed her training in 1931. She then worked for several government agencies in Montana and ended up in Havre in 1947. While in Havre she worked for the Hauge Law Firm, Citizen's Bank and County Superintendent of Schools office. She retired in 1975 after 27 years as the deputy superintendent of schools.

On Dec. 2, 1938, she married Arthur Huff. She had been a resident of the Northern Montana Care Center since March 1999.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Eagles, Elks, Northern Montana Hospital Auxiliary, and Democratic Party.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Gina (Espesth) Lund; and brother, Gordon Lund.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Beryl Lund of Wolf Point; nephew, Dale Lund of Utah; a grandnephew; and a grandniece.

Memorials in Alice's honor may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 701 Fourth Ave., Havre, MT 59501, or to the Northern Montana Care Center, P.O. Box 1231, Havre, MT 59501.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
