SARAH WIPF obituary

HILLDALE COLONY - Sarah P. Wipf, 82 years of age, died at her home at the Hilldale Colony, Tuesday, December 30, 2003 of natural causes.

A wake began at 5 p.m. Wednesday and continued until today. A funeral service was to be held today with the Honorable John Waldner officiating.

Sarah was born on April 17, 1921, to John J. and Sarah (Kleinser) Waldner in Magrath, Alberta. She grew up and was educated in the area.

In 1944 she married Peter P. Wipf at the Rockport Colony in Alberta. From there, the family moved to the Pendroy Colony and from there to the Hilldale Colony in 1963.

Sarah occupied her time by sewing and taking care of her grandchildren; she had 42.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents John and Sarah Waldner; husband, Peter Wipf; and daughter, Susan Wipf.

Survivors include her daughters, Lydia (George) Wurtz and Sarah (Mart) Madel, both of the Vulcan Colony in Alberta, Annie (John) Wipf of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Katie (Andy) Waldner of the Hilldale Colony, Rachel (Simon) Kleinser, Christina (Larry) Klenser, and Rebecca (Leonard) Klenser, all of the Pondera Colony, Mary (Zack) Wurtz of the Hillside Colony, Lizzy (Paul) Hofer of the Augusta Colony; sons, Peter (Mary) Wipf of the Hilldale Colony, John (Dora) Wipf of the Hartland Colony and Sam Wipf of Great Falls; sisters, Rachel (Dave) Klenser and Susan (Sam) Waldner, both of the Hartland Colony, Annie (Mike) Gross of Vulcan, Alberta, Katie (Dave) Wurtz and Becky (John) Waldner, both of the Hillside Colony; Brothers John (Mary) Waldner and George (Sarah) Waldner both of the Camrose Colony; Sam (Annie) Waldner of the Clear Lake Colony; Joe (Rebecca) Waldner and Dave (Sarah) Waldner both of the East End Colony; 42 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
