MARY ANTHONY obituary

SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Mary K. Anthony, 70, of Sheridan, Wyo., died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at a Sheridan residence.

A funeral service was held Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Goodwin officiating. Burial was to be in the Elk's Section of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

Mary was born on Dec. 12, 1933, in Granite Falls, Minn., to Neal and Jennie Nelson. She grew up and attended schools in Granite Falls. She graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1952.

She married Earl Anthony in Granite Falls on Nov. 10, 1952.

The couple moved to Havre and lived here for 18 years before moving to Forsyth. They moved to Sheridan in 1973, where Mary worked at the Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County before going to work at the Sheridan V.A. Hospital as an LPN. She retired in 1995.

Mary was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheridan, Women's League of the Eagles, VFW Auxiliary, and American Legion Auxiliary.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and playing bingo. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and one son.

Survivors include her husband, Earl Anthony of Sheridan; son, Thomas Anthony of Sheridan; daughters, Shirley Grotz of Prescott, Ariz., and Susan (Casey) Goodman of Sheridan; one brother in Minnesota; sister in Washington state; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were by Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
