WILLIAM BREWER obituary

ZURICH - William James Brewer, Jr., 79, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at a Havre care center due to natural causes.

A funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Kuper Memorial Cemetery with military honors.

Jim was born on Sept. 19, 1924, in Wolf Point to William James and Ivah Edith (Cody) Brewer Sr.

James married Marjorie Lansdell on Jan. 8, 1953, in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, and moved to Malta, where he worked on farms and later construction.

He moved to Wagner and continued farming sugar beets and ranching. James started working for Schellin Construction in 1967 and moved to Chinook in 1968. He later had his own construction business and helped his wife with maintenance of Zurich Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Brewer; and sisters, Florence Parker and Hazel Horowitz.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Brewer of Chinook; daughters, Roxanne Brewer and Jean Kokkeler, both of Chinook, and Teresa Rimkus of Vaughn; sons, Jim Brewer III of Zurich and Joe Brewer of Spinglake, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Ken Brewer of Stoughton, Saskatchewan, Charley Brewer of Estevan, Saskatchewan, Dan Brewer of Morganhill, Calif., Harold Brewer of Ramona, Calif., and Earl Brewer of Sonora, Calif.; sister, Merle Leister of White Pigeon, Mich.
