MILWAUKIE, Ore. - Paulette Metteer, 57, died unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004.
A funeral service was held on Feb. 12 at Lincoln Memorial Chapel in Milwaukie.
Paulette was born on April 14, 1946, to Joseph and Esther Zorko. She graduated from Havre Central High School in 1964.
Paulette began her 40-year career of caring for people at Sacred Heart Hospital in Havre. It was a career that took her to Minot, N.D., and then to Portland, Ore., where she spent the last 19 years working at the V.A. Hospital as an LPN.
She married George Metteer in July of 1998. They enjoyed traveling and photography and were planning a trip to her sister's home in Tenakee Springs, Alaska, this summer as part of a family reunion.
Paulette was preceded in death by her parents and brother Joseph.
Survivors include her husband, George; daughter, Renee (Vince) Hofford of Seattle; brothers, Robert Zorko of Hillsboro, Ore., Michael (Cheryl) Zorko of Marysville, Wash., Richard (Lisa) Zorko of Salem, Ore., and Jerome (Pati) Zorko of Havre; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
