Chester girls' season comes to end

The Chester Coyotes girls basketball season came to an abrupt end on Friday afternoon at the Class C girls state tournament at the Belgrade Special Events Center.

The Coyotes dropped their opening- round game Thursday to defending state champion Charlo, and were then eliminated from the tournament by upstart Scobey in Friday loser-out action.

In the opening round Chester succumbed to a big second half by Charlo, as it fell 42-29. The two teams played a dead-even first half, however. They played to a 6-6 tie after one period and the game was tied at 13-13 at halftime.

But the Vikings broke open...
