Authorities in Blaine County reported some flooding this morning, though no structures were in danger and no county residents were evacuated.
According to a press release from the Blaine County Commission, a number of families on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation were asked to evacuate early this morning.
It was unknown how many people were affected. Tribal council members and tribal disaster and emergency services coordinator John Allen could not be reached for comment.
According to the press release, Thirtymile Creek had lowland flooding during the night. Cool overnight temperatures slowed the flow of water, but runoff remained high, the release said.
The Milk River is "high but within its banks," and the release said that Red Rock Creek has lowland flooding, but no structures were threatened. Snake Creek is full to its banks, while Battle Creek and Lodge Creek are normal, the release said.
Drainages flowing north through the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation have lowland flooding and some families along Peoples' Creek on the reservation were notified to evacuate at 4 a.m. today, the release said.
