Class AA wins HIT; Brothers named tourney MVP

The Class AA all-star squad, paced by 22 points from CMR's Don DeGooyer, picked up a 118-97 win over the Class A all-stars in Saturday night's championship game of the Hi-Line Invitational tournament in Malta.

Kalispell's Colter Smith added 18 points, including four three-pointers, and Missoula Sentinel's Jordan Hasquet added 19 in the win.

Class A was led by Havre's Cory Brothers' 20 points in the loss. Despite the loss, Brothers was named the tournament's most valuable player and led the tournament in scoring with 132 points in four games for an average of 33 points per game. Brothers scored 46 points on Friday night against the Class AA squad in round-robin play.

Libby's Aaron Sutton also scored 20 points and Dillon's Chris Dyk added 19 points for Class A.

In the consolation game, St. Labre's Dane Fisher scored 52 points to lead Class B to a 138-99 win over the Class C. Harlem's Jim Kennedy added 25 points in the win.

Class C got 26 points from Brockton's Casey Weston. Big Sandy's Gage Brumwell and Jay Jamieson added 19 and 17 points in the loss.

Jamieson and Kennedy were named to the all-tournament team.
