Another solid turnout for annual Bears Paw Run

It was another successful turnout for the annual Bears Paw Run held Saturday in Beaver Creek County Park.

More than 50 competitors competed in the one-mile, three-mile and six-mile run/walk events.

Winning the very competitive 6-mile run were Montana State University-Northern assistant wrestling coach Mike Lane with a solid time of 41:00, almost two minutes better than nearest competitor Tim Ranes.

On the women's side, Havre High cross country coach Kim Ray finished first with a time of 42:51.

In the three-mile walk/run, Chinook's Matt Roseberry blew away the competition with a time of 19:18, nearly six minutes faster than second-place runner Ken Fitzgerald.

On the women's side, Janice Kim ran a solid time of 26:45. The mom and daughter duo of Dawn and Kaya Welch won the walking division.

In the one-mile walk/run, Trevor VanCampen won the adult division with a 7:02 while Brandon Roberts won the children's division with a time of 8:54. The Quick family of Warren, Jamie and Abby won the walking division.
