Local teams, athletes fare well at Cut Bank Invitational

Local teams put on strong performance's at Saturday's Cut Bank Invitational Track Meet in Cut Bank.

The Blue Sky/J-I girls scored 95 team points to finish third behind Cut Bank and Conrad. Chinook finished fourth with 69 points.

On the boys' side, KG finished third with 81 points while Blue Sky/J-I scored 31 team points.

Individually, Blue Sky was led by junior Kaila Warren, who finished second and third in the 100 and 300 hurdles, and Hannah Pimley who on the high jump. Blue Sky also swept the javelin event, taking all six places. Other multiple-event placers were Kile Patrick, Lindsay Anderson and Heather Haas.

Chinook's 1,600-meter relay team of Morgan Obie, Crystal Roseberry, Whitney Lybeck and Georgia Barber won the event with a time of 4:21.5.

KG, which was without Cody Donoven, who is out with injury, still got multiple places from Luke Antonich in the hurdles and high jump, a win in the high jump from Richie Melby, a second- and third-place finish Darby Donoven in the javelin and discus and solid showings from Jerrod Gomke and Forest LeTang in the throwing events.
