LEXI ANDERSON obituary

RUDYARD - Lexi Brianne Anderson, 8, a north Rudyard farm girl, died Tuesday afternoon, April 27, 2004, of head and chest injuries sustained in an ATV crash north of Rudyard. She was wearing a helmet. She was taken to the Liberty County Hospital in Chester where she was pronounced dead soon after arrival.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Blue Sky High School gymnasium in Rudyard. Burial will follow at the Rudyard Cemetery.

Lexi was born on Oct. 30, 1995, at

Havre to Craig and Twyla (Spicher) Anderson. She grew up in the Rudyard community and began her formal education at Blue Sky Elementary School, where she was in the second grade. She was a good student who loved school and enjoyed reading.

Endearing nicknames by her family included "Lex" and "Lexer."

Lexi had participated in the Children's Theatre, Brownie Girl Scouts, L.Y.O., summer T-ball baseball league, and the Saturday morning basketball program, where her team, the Lakers, finished in first place this spring. She also enjoyed swimming and being outdoors.

In her quiet time at home, Lexi liked to listen to music, especially songs by Toby Keith. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and television - her favorite programs were "Kim Possible" and "Trading Spaces." She was also a computer whiz.

Lexi had a special personality, always full of energy, determination, and imagination. She was just like a monkey in the fact that she would climb on just about anything and hang upside-down in precarious places. She loved kittens, puppies, and little kids, and would mother them to death if given the chance. She declared herself the official family taste-tester when it came to fresh baked goods and she loved corn on the cob. She enjoyed working in the shop with the guys and wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty.

Each spring, she would prematurely pick flowers from Mom's garden, then produce a beautiful bouquet for the house. She had a large collection of stuffed animals she affectionately called her "lovies." She also had an affinity for leopard-patterned blankets and clothing items. Lexi always looked good and took pride in her appearance. She always smelled good, too, as she loved her bath oils, body glitters, and lip glosses.

Lexi was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Marlin and Eva Spicher, and an uncle, Sonny Spicher.

Survivors include her parents, Craig and Tywla Anderson of Rudyard; brother, Zachary Anderson of Rudyard; paternal grandparents, Dennis and Shirley Anderson of Rudyard; paternal aunts and uncles, Janet and Brian Kluss, and Stacy Anderson; maternal aunts and uncles, Ardith and Bob Lingle, Sharon and Roger Borlaug, Karen Spicher, Wayne and Rochelle Spicher, Ronald and Patty Spicher, Douglas and Kathy Spicher, and Darlene Spicher; and numerous cousins.

Arrangements are by Rockman Funeral Chapel, Chester.
