Chinook girls, Harlem boys capture titles

The Harlem Wildcat boys and the Chinook Sugarbeeter girls captured the respective team titles at the Chinook Invitational track meet Thursday in Chinook.

Harlem got wins from Brett Arensmeyer in the 400, Ray Moore in the 3,200 and Dan Werk in the javelin en route to 153 team points. Harlem also captured both the 400 and 1,600 relays.

Chinook finished second, with John Dawson leading the Beeter boys with wins in the shot put and discus. Turner's Emory Hedegaard won the 100 and 200, while Dodson's Steve Hopkins and Garrett Messerly combined to win five events.
