Normandy wins All-Star Invitational

Former Havre High golf standout Trent Normandy captured the Montana All-Star Invitational golf tournament held at Riverside Country Club in Bozeman. Normandy fired rounds of 71 and 73 to capture medalist honors in the boys event, which was conducted at the difficult private golf club in Bozeman. Normandy is also the Class A defending state champion and will continue his golf career at Miles City Community College this fall.

Meanwhile, in Tuesday night men's league golf action, Hi-Way Bar captured high team honors with a staggering 27 team points. The team is composed of Don Miller, Dennis Kannberg, Craig Patrick and Bob Wehr. A.J. Lamere and Eric Fee shared low-gross honors for the night. Both players fired a 1-over-par 37. Low net went to Dave Boles with a 33.

On Wednesday night, Independence Bank earned high team with 23.5 points. The team is made up of Byron Ophus, Mark West, Dennis Murphy and Pat Foster. Former HHS golf star Kevin Harada earned low gross for the night after shooting an even-par 36. Lowell Swenson was low net for the night with a 30.5.

There are only two weeks left in the first half of the regular season and playoff spots are still hotly contested. Havre Laundry and Serv-Ur-Self Furniture will be out on Tuesday night. Mariani Insurance will have a bye on Wednesday.
