Havre's Johnstone and Obie play tough at state men's golf tourney

WHITEFISH (AP) - Three golfers stayed at or under par Wednesday to finish in a three-way tie at the end of the Montana State Men's Amateur second round.

Chris Haas of Bozeman, Scott Anderson of Great Falls and Josh Gold of Kalispell each have two-day scores of 141, with Anderson turning in a 3-under 69 in Wednesday's round.

Tuesday's leader, Casey Keyser of Kalispell, finished with a two-round total of 142. Keyser's tied for second with Whitefish's Carroll Lilly who shot 69 Wednesday on the Whitefish Lake Golf Club course.

The 72-hole tournament concludes Friday.

A playoff is planned today to determine the winner of the Barnett Cup, which goes to the two players from the same golf course with the lowest score after the tournament's first two days. Keyser and Justin Dorr of Buffalo Hill Golf Club in Kalispell were tied with Havre's Nick Obie and Jason Johnstone. Both two-man teams have 288 totals.
