Playoffs near for both men's golf leagues

The Great Northern Fair did not bring inclement weather to the Hi-Line this year and that meant ideal conditions for another week of league golf last week at Beaver Creek Golf Course.

Last Tuesday night in men's league action, Liquor Stop Plus earned high-team honors with 28 points. The team was composed of Steve Granell, Barry Zanto, Josh Kirby and Paul Teel. Trent Normandy was low gross with a 37 and Barry Zanto earned low-net honors with a 27.5.

Last Wednesday night saw Michelob Light grab high-team honors with 23 points. Playing for Michelob Light was Jim Kato, Jim Heberly, Tom Baker and Dick Scharfe. Jim Kato earned low gross after firing a 1-under-par 35. Yours truly was low net for the night with a 29.

There are just two weeks remaining in the regular season in men's league and the playoff races are tight on both nights.

Women's league playoff action will also continue on tonight.

Tournament action also returns to BCGC this Sunday with the annual Skylights Scramble. The tournament is an 18-hole four-person scramble which will get underway at 9 a.m.
