Daniel Horton Havre Daily News [email protected]

When the weather has allowed the Havre High boys and girls track teams to compete this season they have put up some very dominating performances. And Tuesday in Glasgow, once again the Blue Ponies had some familiar names placing at the Top Ten Glasgow Invitational. On the girls side HHS had three athletes place in individual events. And on the boys side, the Ponies had four athletes place in five events, and also placed in both the 400 and 1,600-meter relays. Blue Pony Freshman Sammy Evans continued to show great promise when she placed fourth in the triple jump, clearing 32-5. And senior Sarah Blessum turned in another strong performance with a third-place finish of 5:46.7 in the 1,600-meter run, as did Kristina Lozano with a third-place, 9-0 pole vault. Senior Kaden Keto continued to headline the boys squad, placing in two events on Tuesday. In the 800-meter run Keto finished in a time of 2:05.6, landing in the third spot. And in the triple jump he captured a fourth-place finish for the Ponies when he leaped 41-0. But Keto wasn't the only Pony to find success on the track. John Perrodin placed third in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 41.6. The Ponies have consistently showed great strength in the jumping events this year, and those strengths shined through again in Glasgow. Jack Teske earned the only individual second-place finish for the ponies when he successfully cleared 5-10 in the high jump. And Mike Hickman landed in fourth place when he jumped over 20-3 in the long jump. The Havre boys relay teams also looked strong. In the 400-meter relay, the Blue Ponies captured second with a time of 45.1. And in the 1,600-meter relay, the boys time of 3:39.0 was good enough for third place. The Chinook Sugarbeeters also had a strong showing in Glasgow. Tia Bower captured the girls 100 meters with a time of 12.8, while Kayla Hanson swept the hurdle events. Also on the girls side, Harlem's Diona buck captured the long jump with a leap of 15-11. The Blue Ponies are back in action on Saturday when they host the Lewistown Golden Eagles in a dual meet at the HMS track.
