Wilfred l. Peterson obituary

Wilfred L. Peterson, 79, of Havre, died on Monday, June 15, 2009, at the Northern Montana Care Center of Alzheimer's disease.

His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2009, at the Assembly of God Church with Pastor Edroy “Curt” Curtis officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery. Following the burial, a fellowship luncheon will be held at the church. Memorials in Wilfred's honor may be made to KXEI, Your Network of Praise radio station in Havre. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Wilfred was born on May 21, 1930, in Beaubier, Saskatchewan, Canada, the son of Sigfred H. and Gina Marie (Hanson) Peterson. He was raised and attended school in Beaubier. He met and married Ardell Whitson in 1951 and became a U.S. citizen The couple lived north of Havre where they farmed and ranched all of their lives. He enjoyed farm life, camping, taking trips and spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew him. The greatest legacy he leaves is his Christian heritage. He was preceded in death by his parents. Wilfred is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ardell, of Havre, Mont.; two daughters, Beverly (Reggie) Wilcott of Great Falls, Mont., and Cheryl (Mugs) Morris of Havre, Mont.; grandchildren, Misty (Greg) Gardner of Denver, Colo., Melissa (Cody) Boe and Miranda (Gary) Garland both of Havre, Mont., Jennifer Wilcott and Bradley Wilcott, both of Great Falls, Mont., and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Arthur (Elizabeth) Peterson of Spanaway, Wash., and Elmer (Betty) Pederson of Melita, Manitoba, Canada; two sisters, Gladys Gaynor of Williams Lake, British Columbia, Canada, and Mabel “Penny” Todd of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada; special cousins, Ida May (Clare) Offet of Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada, and Marie (Donald) Jacobson of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada
