ATHENA LYNN GALBAVY obituary

Athena Lynn Galbavy, 37, died Monday morning at the Northern Montana Hospital after a short battle with cancer.

Her wake service began Tuesday afternoon at Old Stone Child College and her funeral service, 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Old Stone Child College, with John Gilbert Meyers officiating. Burial fol lowed at the Russette Family Cemetery in Duck Creek. Services and ar rangement s have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Athena was born Sept. 22, 1971, in Havre, Mont., to Steve and Mona (Russette) Galbavy. She was raised and educated in Rocky Boy and graduated from Rocky Boy High School. She attended Stone Child College and Montana State University- Northern obtaining her bachelor's degree in community service in 2006. Athena was a compassionate person who loved her children and her favorite thing was to watch her boys play sports. She was very artistic in her beading, sewing and painting a n d enjoyed all t y p e s o f ar t s and crafts. She loved her f a m i l y , s p e n d i n g time with her friends a n d h e r grandchildren. She was p r e c e d e d in death by her paternal grandparent s, Sam and El s i e Galbavy. Athena is survived by her sons, Lakotah (Erin Broncho) Oats, Jerason Oats, Jakoya Oats, Leisin Oats, Cody Trottier, Colton Montes, Vince Gone, John Ray Running Rabbit, Dean Naul, Ivan Whitford, Garrett “Peanut” Anderson and Glen Doney all of Rocky Boy, Mont .; her parents, Steve and Mona (Russette) Galbavy of Rocky Boy, Mont .; her sisters, Tiffany Galbavy, Lisa Russette, Brenda Azure, Jen Raining Bird, Brenda Flynn and Billi Anne Morsette all of Rocky Boy, Mont .; her brother, Colton Galbavy of Rocky Boy, Mont .; her precious grandchildren, Ryder and Keira Oats; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and many friends.
