Mollie Keller, 95, retired educator, died Tuesday afternoon at the Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes.

Prayer vigil/rosary will be 7 p.m. Thurs-day, July 9, 2009, at the St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, and her funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2009, at St. Jude's. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the St. Jude Parish Center immediately after the graveside service. Memorial contributions in Mollie's honor may be made to the Northern Montana Care Center, P.O. Box 1231, Havre, MT 59501. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Mollie was born Nov. 23, 1913, in Minneapolis, Minn. She was raised in Marshall, Minn. And graduated from Fargo High School. Mollie attended North Dakota State Agricultural College in Fargo and graduated in 1938 with her bachelor's degree in education. She married Joseph Keller on Dec. 26, 1942, in Baltimore, Md. Joseph was serving in World War II. After the war the couple moved to Missoula, Mont., where Joseph earned his master's degree in English from the University of Montana. The couple taught in Fairview, Sunburst, Carnation, Washington and St. Regis. They moved to Havre, Mont., in 1957 where Mollie taught home economics at Havre High School. She retired from teaching in 1974 after 30 years. Mollie and Joseph were active in the Havre community. Mollie was honored in 1984 as Senior of the Year at the Governor's Conference on Aging. They were members of Bear Paw Unit of Montana Educators, and Mollie was a charter member and served as secretary for seven years. Mollie was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Catholic Daughters, Northern Montana Hospital Auxiliary and the American Red Cross where she was secretary for 17 years. She decorated the Havre Senior Citizens Center for 27 years. Mollie enjoyed people and her job as an educator of the youth. She liked to exercise, sew and read. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 64 years, Joseph Keller. Mollie is survived by her children, son, Douglas (Carol) Keller of Austin, Colo ,; daughters; Marcia (Joseph) Carrillo of Chicago, and Cheryl (Bob) Willits of Great Falls, Mont .; three grandchildren, Carmel De Rogatis, Michael (Monica) Willits and Nick Carrillo; one great-grandson, Matthew Willits.
