Today and Thursday, counseling services are being made available for students and parents, two days after 9-year-old Kellen Patrick Lund's death. Lund was a thirdgrader at Lincoln- McKinley Primary School last year and "very well liked and just a sweet boy," Principal Karla Geda said. "I just think that anytime you lose a young person like that, any person for that matter, that there's a big hole in your heart," she said, adding that the school community will miss him. To help with grief that the community is experiencing after Lund's sudden death due to a collision with a semi-truck Monday afternoon, "we want to make (counseling) services available," Geda said. Two sessions today and Thursday are available, with several counselors on-hand, she said. One session was held earlier today from 10 to 11 a.m. and another will be held this afternoon from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Lincoln- McKinley library. Thursday, sessions will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. and from 2 to 3 p.m., Also in the school's library. If a person cannot attend one of the scheduled sessions, Geda said, the school is willing to work with them to find a time that works. For more information, call the school's office at 265-9619.
