MARYANN WHITFORD obituary

MaryAnn Whitford, 82, of Rock Boy, died Aug. 22, 2009, at the family home in Rocky Boy from natural causes.

She was born Aug. 21, 1927, in Babb, Mont., the eighth child of 11 born to Pete and Eliza (Lafond) Flammond. She attended school in Babb, Mont. She married Henry Whitford on Aug. 21, 1943, in Cardston Alberta, and they made their home in Babb. MaryAnn worked at the Lariat Motel in Babb in her young years. She was afflicted by blindness in her mid 30's, changing her life in many ways. She became more interested in activities such as listening to country tunes, camping, riding her exercise bike and devoting more time to her family and friends. MaryAnn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Henry, of more than 54 years; her sons, Blue and Les; great-grandchild Kacey Faye; her sisters, Justine Peterson, Louise Goings, Katherine Dubray, Florence Gray, Liza Kittson and Madeline Gray; her brothers, Alfred Arcand, Pete Arcand, Mike Flammond and Joe Flammond; her sons-in-law, Stew Miller in 2008 and Greg Henderson in 1995. She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Linda (Ray) Gonsalez of Rocky Boy; D.A. (Ray) Harwood of Havre, Hoot Miller of Browning, Tracy (Jerry) Galbreath of Cut Bank, Marion Whitford of Babb, Twila Herrera of Rocky Boy, Sheri (Roger) Blackweasel of Browning, Kim Henderson of Havre, Jodi (Steve) Juneau of Billings, Nichole Whitford of Havre; and her sons and their spouses ,Kit (Patsy) Whitford of Babb, Sam (Shirley) Whitford of Babb, Peter (Sherina) Whitford of Cut Bank, and Larry Whitford of Harlem. She is also survived by 33 grandchildren and 59 greatgrandchildren, along with her daughter-in-law, Nellie Whitford of Browning, from her late son, Les; also one brotherin- law, Peter (Lil) Whitford of Babb, and her sister-in-law, Lily Corcoran, of Rocky Boy along with numerous nieces and nephews. A wake is under way at this time with a rosary service at 7 p.m. today at Eagle Shield Center in Browning. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at the Eagle Shield Center in Browning. Cremation will take place after services. Committal of ashes will take place at a later time at Rocky Boy. Services have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home of Havre.
