JOE BELL obituary

Joel F. "Joe" Bell, 49, a resident of Havre, Mont., and a carman for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad died on Sept. 9, 2009, north of Havre as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

Cremation has taken place. His memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Maroney officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at the Eagles Club in Havre. Memorials in Joe's honor may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 911 W. 5th Ave. Spokane, WA 99204-2910. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Joe was born on Aug. 1, 1960, at St, Paul, Minn., the son of Albert G. and Shirley C. (Johnson) Bell. His family lived in Helena, Mont., Spokane, Wash., and Billings, Mont., where Joel attended school and in 1978 he graduated from Billings West High School. In 1979, he went to work for the Great Northern Railroad at Laurel, Mont. Joe transferred to Havre in 1980 where he met and marriedå- Toni Chute and to this union two children were born. The couple later divorced. He later married Sharon Schmockel in Havre. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, camping and fossil paleontology. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and numerous friends. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Schmockel of Havre, Mont.; one son, Matthew (Lacey Tollefson) Bell of Havre, Mont.; one daughter, Sahri (Vince Rispoli) Bell of Havre, Mont.; stepdaughter, Stacey Azure of Havre, Mont.; two sisters, Virginia (Dennis) Crawford of Casper, Wyo., and Janet Bell of Spokane, Wash.; three brothers, Steve Bell of Spokane, Wash., Greg (Elaine) Bell of Spokane, Wash., and David (Lorrie) Bell of Reardon, Wash.; stepgrandchildren, R.J. Meiwald, Aubrey Meiwald and Nevaeh Chinadle; numerous nieces and nephews; and special pets, Annie, Leda and Moe.
