VERGENE RUDIO obituary

Vergene “Jean” W. Rudio, 72, of 615 5th Ave., Havre, Mont., a retired cook, died Monday of natural causes at a local hospital.

Private graveside services will take place at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home. Survivors include her daughters, Kathy (Richard) Nicholson, Laurie Cook, Dena Rudio and Donna (Greg) Tilleman of Havre, Sheila (Andrew) Block of Kodiak, Alaska, and Robin Rudio of Anchorage, Alaska; sisters, Marjorie Giermann and Iris Carroll of Kalispell; brother, Blake (Melba) Weston of Sequim, Wash; seven grandchildren, Rachel, Christopher, Brian, Jenna, Savannah, Anna, and Nathan; three step-grandchildren, Rosie, Becky and Zeb; two great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Rudio in 1998. Jean was born March 3, 1937, in Logan, Iowa. She grew up and attended schools in Logan, Iowa and Kalispell, graduating from Flathead High School in 1955. She married Douglas Rudio in Kalispell in 1957. Jean worked in several restaurants in Whitefish and Kalispell. Jean was an avid reader, making regular trips to the local library, and she loved music. She was an Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed playing Scrabble and cards. Jean will be remembered for her tremendous sense of humor and her laugh. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
