O'DELLA L. SOHM obituary

The Lord took O'Della Sohm on Oct. 9, 2009, at the age of 79.

She passed away of natural causes. Her rosary service will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, with her funeral Mass 11 a.m. Thursday, all at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church. A fellowship luncheon will follow at the church. Burial will be held at Highland Cemetery in Havre at 2:30 p.m. Memorials in O'Della's honor may be made to St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church in Big Sandy, Mont. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Della was born in Consul, Saskatchewan, Canada, on June 5, 1930, to Martin Aaron “Pete” and Eva Mae (Stokes) Brower. She was raised on a sheep farm north of Havre. She graduated from Havre High School in 1948. She worked at the Super Ice Cream, J.C. Penney and the movie theater during her high school years. She married Claire Sohm on May 24, 1948, at St. Ann's Cathedral in Great Falls. They lived in Havre and Roundup before moving to Big Sandy in 1954. Together they raised two children Jim Sohm and Vicki Pfeiffer. Della touched so many people in so many ways. Words cannot express how much she will be missed. She had such a quiet way of saying things she wanted you to know. She always had a smile and a “hello!” She loved to bake, play cards and visit with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Claire “Red” Sohm; her parents; her three sisters, Elaine Stromberg, Margie Cook and Selma Fastje. Della is survived by her son, Jim (Barb) Sohm of Polson, Mont .; Vicki Pfeiffer of Great Falls, Mont .; four grandchildren, Jeremy Sohm, Chad Pfieffer, Brad Pfeiffer and Angie Sohm. She also had five great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Olivia, Noah Pfieffer, Logan Sohm and Jaxson Airhart; a brother, Floyd Brower of Roundup, Mont .; and several nieces and nephews.
