RITA JEAN (LASALLE) BLANK obituary

Rita Jean (LaSalle) Blank, 60, loving mother and caring person by nature, bookkeeper by trade, passed away on Oct. 12, 2009, following a vigilant fight against cancer.

A memorial service will be held in Havre, location and time to be announced at a later date. Rita Jean (Jeannie) was born July 1, 1949, to Richard and Rita (Cole) LaSalle. She was raised in Opheim and Havre where she graduated from Havre High School. She also lived in Great Falls. For the last 20 years she resided in Medford, Ore., where she was married to Jim Blank for 15 years. She was the second oldest of seven kids and had two wonderful sons of her own, Gary and Tom, and two stepchildren, Jay and Kim. Jeannie loved to care for people, from her siblings, whom she "herded around like an old mother hen" to anyone in need, she would take under her wing. Jeannie enjoyed sharing her time and talents with others. She also enjoyed working in her yard and garden with her flowers, as well as playing the piano, cards and Yahtzee, and also camping. Jeannie was preceded in death by her former husbands, Gary Gorman and Jack Peterson; parents, Richard and Rita LaSalle; daughter-in-law, Stacy (Stuker) Peterson; and nephew, Jacob LaSalle. She is survived by her husband, Jim Blank; sons, Gary and Tom (Beth) Peterson; stepchildren, Jay and Kimberly Blank. Also surviving are brothers, John (Linda), Jim (Sherrie) and Joe (Connie); and sisters, Judi (Marv), Joy and Jan; as well as grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family. She will be missed greatly by all.
