John Jack “Red” Vylasek, 93, died Thursday Oct. 15, 2009, at Northern Montana Care Center.

Cremation has taken place and at his request no services are planned. Red was born May 4, 1916, in Chicago to Mary and Stephen Vylasek. The family moved north of Havre, where they homesteaded and eventually moved to town and lived on the north side. Red left home at the age of 15 and spent several years working in California before entering the Navy in 1943. After his discharge, he started an auto dealership called Radian Motors in Los Angeles.
