KENNETH CHARLES WOOD obituary

Kenneth Charles Wood, 67, of Copeland Kan., died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City, Kan.

The son of Curtis and Freda (Beecher) Wood, he was born Oct. 18, 1942, in Havre, Mont. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He and Rhea Jo Hollingworth were married Nov. 29, 1969, in Great Falls, Mont. They moved from Hooker, Okla., to Copeland in 1997. He was a member of the Copeland American Legion Post No. 369. He worked for ADM Grain Elevator as an operations manager. Survivors include his wife, Rhea Jo Wood, of Copeland; a son, Landon Wood and wife, Danielle, of Moscow Mills, Mo.; two daughters, Kelly Gunther and husband, Roscoe, of Woodward, Okla., and Kodi Davidson and husband, Kevin, of Pratt, Kan.; three brothers, Clarence Wood of Great Falls, Mont., Louis Wood of Kingsville, Texas, Richard Wood of Detroit, Mich.; three sisters, Margaret VandeSandt of Gilford, Mont., Dorothy Williams of Kremlin, Mont . , Virginia Jones of Cascade, Mont.; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three step-greatgrandchildren and other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Florence Wood. A memorial has been established to the Cancer Center of Kansas in Dodge City. Memorial may be mailed to Haskell County Funeral Home, Box 607, Sublette, KS 67877. Memorial services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Gildford Baptist Church, Gildford, Mont., with Pastor Eddie Fallo presiding. Inurnment will be at the South Gildford Cemetery, Gildford, Mont. Haskell County Funeral Home in Sublette was in charge of arrangements.
