Terry Leonard's Christmas lights are literally rocking. The 30,000 lights, which Leonard said he has been collecting since 1986, are synchronized using a computer interface and an FM radio station. Currently, Leonard said he has a dozen songs, but will soon be adding 10 more to the repertoire once he puts the finishing touches on them. It took him three-and-a-half weeks to set up the show, he said. Last year, he used speakers in his yard for the music because he didn't have time to work out a radio transmitter, he said. But this year people can leave their windows rolled up as a barricade against the cold and tune their radios to 106.9 FM to hear the music. Tunes include "Christmas, Don't Be Late," the theme from “Christmas Vacation,” "Wizards of Winter," "Holly Jolly Christmas," "Snoopy's Christmas," "Christmas Eve Sarajevo” and several other holiday favorites. "I like all the sequences, obviously, but the 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree' by Miley Cyrus really turned out nice," Leonard said. Community members liked the show last year, he said. "The kids love it," he said. "So do a lot of adults." Leonard said that 98 percent of the lights are LED to conserve energy. "We went green this year." The show begins at 5 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and runs on a loop until 10 p.m., unless it's raining. Friday and Saturday, the show begins at 5 p.m. and runs until 11 p.m. A small house attached to a tree by Leonard's home, at 1145 Cleveland Ave., contains candy canes for viewers to enjoy, Leonard said. "Just look for the glow," Leonard said. "(People) can't miss it."
