The water's warm: HHS hosts Havre Invite

The high school swimming season is already a week old, but for the Havre High boys and girls swim teams, Saturday's Havre Invitational will be the first time the Blue Ponies race against real competition. Havre was set to open the season last Saturday in Kalispell, but bad weather forced HHS to turn around in Browning and forgo the meet in Kalispell. On Saturday however, HHS will get its chance to compete when the Ponies host the Havre Invitational at 12 p.m. at the Havre Community Pool. The Havre Invite is always one of the most competitive meets of the year for several top swimming programs. The meet will not only feature the defending 10-time Class A state champion girls, as well as Class A favorite, the HHS boys, but it will also see Class AA powerhouse CMR and Kalispell, which both have great teams on both sides. Great Falls High and Glacier High, two more AA schools will also be in attendance. The Havre Invitational is one of two meets scheduled for Havre this season. In January, the Ponies will also be at home to host the Class A Meet. Saturday's HHS Invite will get underway at 12 p.m. at the Havre Community Pool.
