MABEL ADELINE JOHNSON obituary

Mabel Adeline Johnson, 90, of Hogeland, a homemaker, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 12, 2009, at the family home in Hogeland of natural causes.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at 1 p.m. in the Hogeland American Lutheran Church, with burial following in the Wing Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Hogeland American Lutheran Church or the Hogeland Fire Department. Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook. Adeline was born on July 10, 1919, to Charles and Ellen (Elfstrom) Dahlquist in Twete, Mont. She was the youngest of eight children. Adeline attended the Violet School for nine years and graduated from Hogeland High School. She married Kenneth Johnson on Aug. 18, 1940, at the Hogeland American Lutheran Church and together they raised seven children. She was devoted to her family and was an excellent cook. Adeline liked attending sporting events that her children and grandchildren participated in. She was very proud of the five-generation picture taken in 2007. Adeline worked diligently in her church and was always willing to help others. She enjoyed sewing, reading, vegetable gardening, playing cards, and in later years she loved to go the Harlem Senior Citizens Center. Adeline is survived by her seven children, Gladys Alex, Corrine (Max) Jolicoeur all of Martinez, Calif., Denny (Linda) Johnson, Gerald (Nita) Johnson all of Havre, Howard (Kathy) Johnson of Billings, Gary Johnson of Hogeland, Arlene (Steve) Ruhd of Helena; one sister. Caroline Holloway of Billings; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, in May 2009, two brothers, and four sisters.
