FREDERICK GRABOFSKY obituary CONRAD

Frederick J. “Fritz” Grabofsky, 89, passed away Dec. 25, at Great Falls Hospice, of natural causes, with his wife, Norma, by his side.

Fritz was born May 25, 1920, in North Phillips County, Mont., to John and Lydia (Goll) Grabofsky. He was raised north of Loring, Mont., where he worked the family farm. He served in the Army Air Corps overseas during World War II. Fritz married Norma Sheeler in 1958, and they had a son, Scott. They moved to Havre, where he worked at the Chevron service station and Fleet Wholesale for a number of years. In 1968 they moved to Conrad where he managed the Fleet Wholesale Store until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the Eagles and Veterans of Foreign Wars and belonged to the Pondera Golf Club. Fritz enjoyed golf, bowling, card games, gardening and telling stories over a cup of coffee with his many friends. Survivors include his loving wife, Norma; son, John (Donna) Grabofsky of Corinth, Maine; grandchildren from a previous marriage, Jenny (Lou) Potvin and Rob Grabofsky; great-grandchildren, Brian, Travis, Troy and Sidney; and numerous other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott; brothers, Christian, Jake and Ed; and sister, Lydia.
