Chamber's 101st annual meeting was a success

The 101st meeting of the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce was a huge success! Thank you to each of you for attending. To Trudy and crew at the Duck Inn, thank you for a wonderful lunch. Working with you is always a pleasure! The Chamber completed a very successful year to wrap up 100 years of serving Havre. Thank you to Nancy Ahern, Gordy Thompson and Brenda Friede for your years of dedicated service to the Chamber. It has been rewarding to work with each of you. The Chamber has 275 business partners working together for the purpose of a strong and sustaining community. Over these past 100 years the Chamber has played a key role in the development of Havre from the issuing of script money during the Depression to paying workers building Pershing Hall on Northern's campus; advocating for Fresno Dam,Tiber Dam, Bullhook Dam and the Diversion Canal; supporting improvements to now U.S. Highway 2 and Wild Horse Trail; and the development of the Town Square 10 years ago in downtown Havre. The Chamber will continue in that leadership role through 2010. As we move into a new year, we welcome aboard Carol Lamey, Chandra Moomey and Shawn Holden. The Chamber has community strength and energy through the many volunteers that serve the Chamber, along with a positive outlook on what we can be as we work toward another 100 years. Havre has the key to success — "It's the People" who live and work here, the people who volunteer and all who care about the future success of Havre. As our guest speaker Steve Weber said, "Life is like a box of chocolates — we can choose what one we want." Debbie Vandeberg, executive director Havre Area Chamber of Commerce
