BARBARA BROWN-HAYASHI obituary

Barbara Brown-Hayashi passed away on May 22, 2010, at her home in Lawai, Kauai, Hawaii.

She was born Dec. 14, 1952, in Lewistown, Mont., to Charles and Margie Brown.

Barbara grew up in Havre and graduated from H a v r e H i g h S c h o o l .

She married Ron Ha y a s h i in 1 9 7 2 , and they m a d e t h e i r home i n Havre for a s h o r t while.

Then they traveled extensively with her husband's duties in the U.S. Air Force. While serving in Germany, their son Douglas was killed by a drunken driver, at the age of 8.

Barbara's broken heart from the death of her son grew into a deep faith in Christ. Anyone who ever met her knew that she was indeed "advancing the kingdom" by telling them about God's love for them and what He had given for them. She was a faithful friend, a wonderful loving sister, wife, mother and a caring and compassionate example of the hands and feet of Jesus.

S h e wo r ke d i n ma ny Hallmark shops throughout the years and developed a love for collectibles and ornaments.

Most recently, she was a volunteer within her community and helped in any organizations were her talents could be used.

She participated in mission trips within her church family and sang like nobody's business about Christ.

She was preceded in death by her son and her father. She is survived by her husband, Ronald; her daughter, Crystal Dorsey (Steve); and her two beaut i ful granddaughters, Emily and Evelyn of Spanish Fort, Ala. She is also survived by her sisters, Charlotte (Richard) Williams of Des Mo ine s, Wa sh. , Do ro thy (Richard) Burbank of Okinawa, Ginger (Kurt) Hansen of Chinook, Mont., Molly (Gary) Baltrusch of Havre; her mother, Margie Salo and step-father, George, of Medical Lake, Wash.

Due to her and grief and depression, she chose to be with the Lord.

Memor ial services for Barbara will be held June 3, at Koloa Missionary Church, Lawai, Kauai.

Her graveside services will be held on June 4 at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Oahu, Hawaii, where her ashes will be interred with her son at the National Cemetery of the Pacific, Oahu, Hawaii, where her ashes will be interred with her son.
